Ronald Jones Jr. - 2022
   14 - Years Old

Good evening my name is Latoya Jones I am a single mother and my son is Ronald Jones jr., and he is the love of my life. And all I want is the best for him, his favorite sport is basketball and he is awesome at it. I want him to be a part of the HOOP Foundation to help keep him out of the streets and focused on something positive.

I believe the HOOP Foundation is a great opportunity for him to see the positive in the community and know that there is a better way you can live your life. He hears momma say it, but if he here's it from other positive male role models I believe it will really stick with him.

This program will really help build him socially and physically. At this time I am unable to afford to pay for him to be in the hoop foundation so I was reaching out to see if we can get blessed so my son can have a chance at a good life. Please consider him for this scholarship would really help us in this journey. God bless you. Thank you.

 MARSHON JONES - ALUMNI

2006 - 2010

My name is Marshon Jones. I participated with HOOP back in 06 all the way thru 2010. I heard about it from a few of my friends who told me they were forming a basketball team and they practiced at this church. I needed to stay in shape so I went. What I liked about HOOP was the faith based principals they had. They not only taught us the game of basketball but how to be men as well. They challenged us on and off the court. They weren't just basketball coaches, they were life coaches. They were big brothers, father figures, mentors , teachers, pastors and whatever else you needed them to be. They cared about us as individuals which made us work even harder on the court.  HOOP helped me in so many ways that are too long to list. To shorten that list, I'll just say they saved my life. In a gang infested environment where it's easy to get caught up in the streets, HOOP gave me an outlet. Not just the game of basketball, but the coaches who were in charge. Here I am over 10 years removed from the program and I can still call coach Bryan and Tim for anything. They helped me out of situations when most people would've turned their back on me. Since leaving HOOP I've gotten married and moved to Chico California. I've been with my wife for almost 10 years and we've been married for 6. We have two beautiful children named Marshon Jr. and Amelia. I have my own basketball training business where my motto is "Without Faith and Diligence, you won't Accomplish your Goals".  I also coach Jr High, high school and AAU basketball. I am giving the same principals to kids that they gave me. It's had truly been a blessing and an experience of a lifetime and I'm truly thankful for it.

JOSHUA THOMAS - ALUMNI  2010 - 2018

To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing this letter to thank HOOP and their sponsors for the assistance with my three son's basketball registration fees.

I am a single mom, recently divorced, receiving no child support from their dad. My three sons love basketball and their basketball coach. I would hate for them to not be able to play a sport due to my financial hardship. Coach Jones has allowed my children to play on the team without collecting a registration fee because he sees that their heart is in the game.

I have asked their dad to pay for or at least assist with their registration fee, but he is not willing to help as he says he is on a strict budget. All of my sons attend I.C.E.F. Charter School and they love to play basketball.

I greatly appreciate the assistance for my sons Lucian 12 years old, Mekhi 10 years old, and Jacob 8 years old.

We truly appreciate the assistance and thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Mom Marcia Harris

Dear HOOP Foundation Staff,

I would greatly appreciate the HOOP Foundation assisting me with the registration fees for my son Jayden Bronson.  While I am a hard-working single mother, I can admit we can all use help at times. This isn’t Jayden’s first time being apart of this organization, which is why I would love for him to be a member again.  It has helped him develop a higher level of basketball skills, he made great friendships and I would love to continue this basketball journey to elevate him to the next level. Most of all Bryan, the HOOP staff and coaches always made us feel like family and we look forward to rejoining the family.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Sincerely,

Janai Wilson

Aaron Lee- 8 Years Old

Dear Hoop Foundation,

I am writing this letter to request a sponsor for my 8-year-old son Aaron Lee.  My son Aaron has learned beneficial skills from training with Coach Brian Jones, including the ability to shoot, dribble, pass and rebound, and most of all good character development.  Basketball is what my son has a passion for and in order for him to continue to build skills he is willing to put time into becoming a great member of the hoop foundation team with your help.

Aaron is a leader in school and has received high-ranking math & science awards.  I believe that ever since Aaron has been hooping Brian’s team his confidence has grown as a student and as an athlete because of the positive mentorship of this program.

I am seeking sponsorship this year for Aaron to play basketball since I am experience financial hardship due to COVID.  With this program, my son can continue on the road to being a focused/confident student and awesome athlete.

Thank you for your assistance in Advance.

Best Regards,

Ranece Smith

Mother of a passionate athlete.
